Insurgent

Image
A couple of weeks ago I went to the cinema for the second chapter of The Divergent Series. I was so excited to see it. I loved so much the first movie that I absolutely had to watch the second one. I haven't read the books but it's something that I'm looking forward to do. I don't want to spoil it for those of you who have not seen it yet, but I'm so curious to see what happens next that I bought the Allegiant book. I desperately want to know what's beyond the fence!!!! I loved the movie, they finally get rid of Jeanine and find out the truth about the divergents. Shailene Woodley is amazing, and I love so much the love story between Tris and Four....they are so close inside and he is so protective, he would do anything for her, she is tough but she loves him so much. And Theo James is so hot!!! <3.<3 I can't wait to see the third chapter of this story, but for now I will try to calm down my thirst for knowledge by reading the final book. H...

A little splurge

Image
Sadly I don't have much time to go shopping. But during the last month I've been so lucky to have a couple of afternoons to go around shops as I like, and that's what happened.   from: Pimkie     First thing I got, is this dress from Pimkie. I immediately fell in love with it because of the collar (I love collars so much). In fact the dress is really plain, just black, the skirt is so wide, but your eye is captured by the myriad of rhinestones and pearls on the white collar. I wear it with black tights and black ankle boots, such as my beloved Blundstone <3. My dad says that I look like Wednesday Addams but I don't care, I actually like her, she's a kick ass character! =)   from: Zara     Then, at Zara's I got this amazing shirt, it's pretty similar to the dress, I know (except for the glittery collar) but I just couldn't resist it. I think it's super elegant in it's semplicity. I normally wear it with skinny colour...

Fifty Shades of Grey

Image
I went to the cinema about a couple of weeks ago. Some friends of mine wanted to see "Fifty Shades of Grey", they were so excited about it because they read the book, so I decided to join them and see what was all this rave about. I haven't read the book, but more or less I knew the story of Christian and Anastasia and honestly.......I expected more. The film was pretty featureless. Jamie Dornan was very sexy indeed, but I found the character of Christian so oppressive and too much of a stalker for my taste, they're not even a couple and he seems to appear everywhere she goes. While Anastasia is so boring (I'm not talking about the actress, I'm talking about the character of Anastasia). I think the story has nothing original or special: boy meets girl, he's too hot for her but he wants her anyway, she drools over him whenever she sees him and since she's very clumsy we participate to some little funny situations, they kiss, they decide to be friends ...

Nail art

Image
I started doing nail art four years ago by chance (although I think that everything happens for a reason, sometimes you just don't know what's that reason ), I remember I was bored surfing the internet until I stumbled on some very cute pictures of nails on Facebook. I got more and more excited, so I decided to go and buy what I needed: brushes and a dotter. These are some of my creations:     I always do nail arts that are easy to recreate, so nothing too difficult; mainly because I'm not good at drawing so I just can't do too elaborate designs. I try to reproduce what I see on photos I find on the net, and I don't use professional tools or nail polishes, just the ones you find in beauty stores.     The time I spend on a nail art varies a lot on how much complicated it is, and on how quick nail polishes dry. Sometimes you just need a lot of patience! I know I don't do surprising things but I'm pretty proud of myself, I ...

Wine & Food Tasting

Image
Recently, I've been to a wine and food tasting with some friends. We drove for about 45 minutes heading to Bergamo to arrive at the restaurant where everything took place. The location was evocative due to the wintry landscape, the restaurant was surrounded by bare trees and there was also a little lake with a little fountain in the middle of it, and a mini jetty (I wondered who ever tried to sail that tiny body of water!).  The place was on a rise, the tiny street we walked through was full of greenery and other plants that would probably blossom in spring. I bet that place must be amazing during spring and summer because they organise wedding there too, so I tried to imagine everything was floral.     who has the courage to get on that old boat?     First they took us on a wine cellar tour, and told the story of their family that produces wine since ages, and how they make it. Then, once we were all sat down in the hall, they served us five di...

New Hair

Image
My hair was almost waist-length...until yesterday when I decided to have a haircut. I love long hair, I personally prefer it because I think it looks better on me, but I really needed a haircut.       I started ombree my hair four years ago until July when I wanted to be a red head so I dyed my hair red. The last time I had a haircut was two years ago more or less....basically my hair was suffering and needed a restyling. I haven't done anything crazy or new, just the same old layered haircut that I have for years now, but I'm not very brave when it comes to hair because I don't think that I would look good with something different. I constantly straighten my hair which is natural curly and frizzy, so it was pretty exhausted. I know myself too well to suppose that I'll start to ombree my hair again for the upcoming summer. What do you think about my new haircut? Should I try a new one, maybe?   You can follow me on BlogLovin' i...

Big Buffet and Concert in Milan

Image
A few days ago I went to a concert of an Italian band in Milan, with a couple of friends. We live near Milan, so it took us just an hour to get there. As it was 19 o' clock (more or less), we went to a bar for a aperitif. The place was called "Sand" and it was very cool, it had soft black leather sofas and mirrors all over the walls, light was suffused and they played lounge music. We ordered our drinks. I got one named Sand (as the place) that was so good, it tasted like pineapple, banana and orange; and my friends had another one but I can't remember what it was. But what is a happy hour without a buffet? Let me tell you it was magnificent! We plunged into the sea of food on the table decked for the occasion: different types of pasta, tortellini with cream and ham, lasagna, couscous, fresh sliced bread and several sauces to put on, cheese, pizza, focaccia bread, croquettes......oh, how I love aperitifs buffets! I always gorge a lot on! ...

Hello!

Image
Hello everyone! My name is Annamaria, translated in English as AnneMarie (but you can call me Anna), a 20-something Italian girl. I'm studying foreign languages at the University, I am attending the last term and hopefully I will graduate by the end of the year. I like beauty, make up, fashion, hip hop music, cinema, hang out with my friends...and many other things. After months and months of reading other people' blogs, I decided to start writing one of my own. I think blogs are super interesting as you may always chance upon new information about what you prefer, but most of all I like the fact that they are the personal view of who is writing. Having a blog is a totally new experience for me but I want to work hard on it. So in this "personal journal" expect beauty and fashion posts, some bits of my life as well as other topics about life in general that cross my mind. That's it for now, until the next post I'm wishing you a joyful life.   ...
